What is Reg2Go?
The Butte College Reg2Go Program works with local high schools to inspire, support and provide the necessary tools to successfully transition students from high school to college. High School seniors that participate in the Reg2Go program will participate in orientation, assessment, counseling, and registration at Butte College prior to the end of their senior year. There are three main components to Reg2Go:
- Campus visitations to your high school (November - January)
- Basic Skills Assessment (February – April)
- Orientation/ Advising and Registration (April - May)
Who attends Reg2Go?
- High school seniors who know they want to attend Butte College
- High school seniors who are still weighing their college options
- High School seniors who are unsure about college
Background of Reg2Go
Reg2Go started in 1995 with one school as a pilot program to assist local high school graduates with the process of enrolling at Butte College. The goal was to help students by bringing the enrollment process to them at their high school so that by the time they graduated high school they would already be enrolled at Butte College for the fall semester. The program expanded quickly and now has over 40 high schools and 1,200 students participating each year.
Reg2Go - Dates
Inspire School of Arts & Sciences, in conjunction with Butte College, offers seniors an opportunity to register for their first semester of college through a program called Reg2Go. By completing each part of a three-step process, students will have their first semester of college classes in place prior to graduating from high school. Seniors who fail to complete any step of this program will delay the class registration process until after high school graduation.
Step 1: Apply to Butte College
January 17, 2019 - Butte College Representative will return during Advisory and stay after after school to assist students with the Butte College application process. This will take place in J226. Applications for Butte College can be found here. 7-10 days after applying students receive an email from Butte with their Butte College Identification Number. *Make sure to check your junk mail for this email!
Step 2: Take the Butte College Assessment Test
After applying to Butte and receiving a Butte College ID #, students will need to sign up for the Basic Skills Assessment with Mr. Hopkins. This test establishes basic skill placement levels in Reading, English and Math. The assessment test will be offered at Inspire on Date TBD. Students will receive call slips when it is their time to test - all Reg2Go students must take this test prior to going on the orientation trip to Butte, unless they are waived from needing to take them (Counselors will tell students if they need to take the assessment/s).
Step 3: Orientation and Registration
On Date TBD from 8:00 until 1:45, students will travel by school bus to Butte College for a day-long visit. They will tour the campus and sign up for their Fall 2019 college classes. Students should pack a lunch or bring money for the cafeteria.
