CONGRATULATIONS to our SkillsUSA Digital Cinema Production Team! Wyatt and Avery, we’re so proud of you! 4th place in the nation, but 1st place in our hearts
Here is an update on this year’s SkillsUSA experience from Digital Media Teacher Extraordinaire, Mr. Hall:
“Our SkillsUSA Digital Cinema Production Nationals Team came so close to getting up on the podium again this year but came up short with a 4th Place finish. Though, I couldn’t be more proud of our team’s skills, hard work, and creativity.
After their State Championship win Avery Munson Clark and Wyatt H. headed for their national championship run in Atlanta Georgia, where the SkillsUSA 2022 national championships were held (June 18-26). They went to nationals and competed together with 12th grade Chico High student Henry R. and added Inspire alumni Jade Ryan to help them with their acting.
On Tuesday we got started with the contest which essentially starts with the prompt.
This year our prompt was…
Genre: Suspense Thriller
Film Element: Twist or shocking moment at the end of the film
The pre-production materials were due at 3:30 am on Thursday morning, giving us essentially about 38 hours to complete the pre-production, production, and post-production process. Wyatt and Avery pitched their film in an interview process to the judges the Thursday morning. On Friday we headed out for some cultural learning site seeing, and then headed to the awards ceremony at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena.
Congrats to the team and congrats to Inspire!
Thank you to the Digital Cinema Production Crew for all their amazing efforts. Avery and Wyatt for their technical skills in cinematography, directing, editing and audio, Henry and Wyatt for their acting skills and Jade Ryan for her all around support. Also to our team mom Kelly Munson Clark for her help in fundraising, chauffeuring, keeping us fed and safe!”
