Jeff Pershing, singer/songwriter/guitar player, started playing San Francisco clubs at the age of 16. He has honed his skills as a working musician, playing diverse styles. Jeff studied music at San Francisco State University, Berklee College of Music in Boston, and received a Master's Degree in Music from California State University, Chico. Jeff has toured and performed in the U.S., Mexico, Central America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Jeff has opened for Albert King, Gregg Allman, Credence Clearwater, Chris Isaak, Buffalo Springfield, The Ventures, Elvin Bishop, Norton Buffalo, and many others. The Jeff Pershing Band radiates a playful and positive energy, combining uplifting lyrics with improvisations influenced by rock, funk, blues, Latin jazz, Afro pop, and reggae. Even non-dancers feel free to shake themselves free of inhibitions when they hear the irresistible grooves of the Jeff Pershing Band. Jeff started teaching music in the the early 80s and has been teaching music at Butte College since 2008.
