Mr. McLaughlin was born and raised in the South Bay Area before moving to Chico in 1989. He graduated from CSU, Chico with degrees in Political Science and Philosophy. After some time in Lake Tahoe honing his skills dealing cards, running valet, and skiing, he entered graduate school in 1995, also at CSU, Chico. He completed his Masters in Psychology in 1998 with credentials in School Counseling and School Psychology. While working as a School Psychologist, he completed hours and subsequent licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist. With over 20 years of supporting special education and mental health, Mr. McLaughlin now provides training in trauma-informed practices for Inspire as well as the local community.
