How To Help Your Teen Learn Civil Discourse

57 57 people viewed this event.

We are in a challenging moment in history, where political division and lack of constructive conversation around the issues facing our communities is difficult to come by. From topics like systemic racism in America, to civil unrest, to criminal justice and reform, to COVID-19, and beyond, the time is right to equip the young people in our lives with the tools they need to engage on these topics — no matter which side of the issues they may fall on.

On Thursday, January 21, join Inspire School of Arts & Sciences for a digital webinar designed to support parents in helping their teens engage in civil discourse. Attendees will learn what civil discourse is and how it relates to the social and political issues of our time, how to communicate effectively around these issues with people we do and don’t agree with, and how to have these important conversations in a safe environment with teens.

This webinar is part of the Parenting Teens Educational Series. It will be facilitated by Evita North, a teacher at Inspire School of Arts & Sciences with 7 years of experience in facilitating conversations on difficult topics with teens. Participants will have the opportunity for Q&A following the session.
