Have you ever wanted to play in a rock band!? Pop and Rock Band Camp combines the interests and talents of student musicians who play guitar, drums, bass, keyboards, and/or sing. The camp, for intermediate to advanced, offers the opportunity for student musicians to learn how to play and perform classic and current pop and rock songs. Students will explore music and musicians that have influenced American music and culture. The camp will consist of multiple “pop/rock bands”, each utilizing audio stations that are outfitted with an electronic drum kit and keyboard, with additional inputs for guitars, bass, and vocal microphones. Headphones will be provided, but students may bring their own. Students are encouraged to bring their own instruments if they have them, though it is not required. Students will learn how to use guitar and bass amplifiers and will have an opportunity to record in the studio. Students should have a basic knowledge of their instruments, how to play basic chords and rhythms and be willing to perform for others.
