SkillsUSA is an organization based on students, teachers and industry professionals working together to ensure a future skilled workforce. SkillsUSA helps each student excel by providing educational programs, events and competitions that support career and technical education (CTE) in the nation’s classrooms. These SkillsUSA competitions are not only rigorous, but also look excellent on job applications and college resumes.

This experience and achievement is a huge step for these students and our school. Enessia E, a senior who will be advancing to states in the photography category says “My favorite part of SkillsUSA is getting the opportunity to experience different leadership roles in terms of club organization and implementation. I’m also grateful for the opportunity to get hands-on experience in Digital Photography.” Inspire students pose with their SkillsUSA medals

Morgen R, a freshman also attending the state competition in the photography category says “I really liked the creative thought process that went into coming up with photo ideas and I want to compete in SkillsUSA next year as well.”

These testimonies reflect the spirit of our SkillsUSA Club as a whole and in order for our club to compete at the SkillsUSA State Competition in Ontario (April 13-16) we are asking for help from our local community. We are looking for support through donations, as it will be an expensive trip. We need $2,000 dollars to pay for transportation, hotel rooms, competition expenses, and fees.
