About
Becky Brown is Principal/Superintendent of Inspire School of Arts & Sciences, where she is privileged to learn something new every day. She graduated with a Masters in English and a teaching credential from CSU, Chico in 2008, and began her teaching career as an English Language Arts teacher at Lloyd G. Johnson Jr. High in Arbuckle, CA. She was hired as an English teacher at Inspire in its first year as a school and taught American Literature, AP Language and Composition, Creative Writing and History of Rock for 8 years. As a grant writer, she helped bring in over a million dollars for Inspire’s programs, and co-developed the EngagED program, a professional development opportunity bringing together teachers across disciplines and grade levels from Chico and surrounding areas. As a new administrator, Becky co-developed and directed the North State Arts Education Consortium, a grant-funded project from Butte County Office of Education engaging nearly 200 teachers across nine counties to develop and implement arts-focused and arts-integrated curriculum in their schools. Becky is also a wife, mom of amazing daughters, writer of songs and poetry, voracious reader, dog-lover, sailor, and hammock aficionado.
