Inspire Recognized Again as a California Distinguished School in 2026
On March 10, State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond named Inspire School of Arts and Sciences as one of 408 middle schools and high schools have been selected for the prestigious 2026 California Distinguished Schools Program, California’s
“It is my pleasure to honor and recognize these 408 schools for their efforts to move the needle for student achievement, no matter what,” Superintendent Thurmond said. “An excellent public education has the power to transform lives, and I commend the educators and school communities who have dedicated themselves to producing exemplary results. This year’s California Distinguished Schools represent the hard work of our middle and high school educators and school staff, who provide our secondary students with life-changing educational opportunities.”
Inspire was specifically recognized as a “Beacon of Opportunity,” a school where historically underserved students achieve at very high levels in multiple areas.
Principal/Superintendent Becky Brown says, “Inspire’s smaller learning community structure, outstanding teaching staff, and broad range of college and career pathway options make our school a place where every student can learn and thrive. We challenge students to not only learn the content required for graduation, but also to push themselves as leaders, designers, problem-solvers, and change-makers. We support them in envisioning a future for themselves as individuals, as well as understanding their responsibility to their community. We are so proud to receive the second CA Distinguished Schools in two years, and we commend the staff, students, and families who have made this possible.”
